Question:
1. Derive the equation for co-efficient of permeability (K) for falling
head and constant head method.
2. To find out coefficient of permeability of a clay the permeability test
was carried out in a variable head permeameter having the diameter
of the sample container to be 8 cm. The initial head of water in the
stand was to be 50 cm and it was observed to drop 25 cm in 0.15
hrs. If the sample be 18 cm high and the diameter of the stand pipe
be 2.2 cm, determine the coefficient of permeability of the clay in
meter/day?
