  Excessive Cracking Problem in ETABS

  In ETABS, my slab shows excessive cracking under service load. What could be wrong?

  Excessive slab cracking in ETABS often comes from incorrect cracked section modifiers. By default, ETABS uses gross stiffness, which underestimates deflection. For concrete slabs, set m11 and m22 = 0.35, and for beams, set EI = 0.35–0.5Ig as per ACI/Eurocode. Also check that load combinations are set to serviceability limits (not just ultimate).
